What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
A Neighbourhood Plan is a way for communities – in this case The Salings Parish Council, to take a proactive approach to deciding the future of the places where they live and work. Once ‘made’ (adopted) a Neighbourhood Plan has the same legal status as the district wide Local Plan, and will be used alongside the Local Plan in deciding planning applications that fall within its area. For more information please see www.braintree.gov.uk/NeighbourhoodPlan
BDC will shortly start the Regulation 16 consultation on our plan, and appoint an Inspector to examine it. However, the referendum on the final version of the plan (which will incorporate the results of the Regulation 16 consultation and recommendations from the Inspector) cannot now be held before 6 May 2021, owing to COVID-19 measures.
